SINOSSI: Su un fondo roccioso in affitto nell’Italia meridionale un padre insegna al figlio come si costruiscono delle pareti in muratura a secco, per confinare il terreno, pulirlo dalle pietre e renderlo coltivabile. Il figlio osserva le mosse precise ed apparentemente facili del padre e si rende conto che un lavoro artigianale ha bisogno della dedizione assoluta, altrimenti “è privo di slanci e di vita e quindi di bellezza”
SINOPSIS: On a stony leasehold in the South of Italy, a father is showing his son how to build dry-stone walls to mark off the fields and clear the stones from the land so that it can be farmed. Watching his father’s precise and seemingly effortless gestures, the son relises that exercising a craft with anything less than total devotion will mean that it will be void of “vitality or life and so – devoid of beauty”
